He is a treasure!!

He acknowledges my qualities; he has seen me at my worst. He completes me. It is almost not possible for me to imagine life without him. He tolerates all my moods, consoles me when I’m down. We can chat for hours and not even realize. We discuss goals, plans, hopes, friends, fights, relationships. He knows when to offer advice and when to let me be on my own. I respect him. We rarely have fights or arguments. We give space to each other in our own way. He understands even when I’m not explaining! Neither is he perfect nor am I, but together, we are beyond compare!

And people think we're 'together'. They think we are 'in love'. I wish these people are lucky enough to experience such a bond at least once in their lifetime. Probably then they would know how this friendship is much more special than any love affair. I am in love but not with him. I am in love with our friendship, in love with that special feeling of togetherness, in love with this beautiful bond.

Yes, A Girl and a Guy can remain 'just friends'. Forever!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friendship isn't a strategy with 'conditions apply' starred over it. It never comes with a set of rules and regulations. There are no restrictions based on gender, status, or appearance. Like love, even friendship just happens. You can almost instantly connect with a newfound friend if you are compatible. And if not, you will find yourself stuck at the starting point, even after years. A girl and guy's friendship is exceptional, in its own way. There are no tantrums, no breakups, and no patch-ups. There is no jealousy or insecurity involved. He makes you feel great about yourself all the time.
You love him, in a way that no words can describe. He is the first person you'd want your boyfriend to meet. One moment you're sad, and the next instant you are laughing your ass off, thanks to him! Relationships may come and go, but you know he'll be there for you, always, an immovable pillar of strength. Someone in whom your faith is so firm that it defeats the strongest of adversities.
Just because Bollywood has portrayed strange ideas about platonic relationships, doesn’t mean you believe them!
Sometimes all a girl needs is her guy best friend! 😊
When he's still in love with his ex!!
First of all, he’ll assure you that he is over her. But the truth is that he’ll never be able to forgive her for crushing his heart into tiny little pieces. And then, you’ll try to prove yourself that he can’t still be in love with someone who left him like that. Somewhere deep down, you know that you are better for him, better than her and he knows that too. So, you plunge into each other, both hoping that this new amour will help him forget about her.
You guys will have fun together. You’ll go on dates and laugh and meet each other’s friends and of course, you’ll get drunk. And then, you’ll think that possibly, just mayhap, this could work out the way you wanted. But the only time he’ll get even close to divulge or open up to you is when he is drunk or high, and even then, he only lets you in superficially.
You’ll start wanting more of him. You knew you would have to wait for him to come around, but days have passed and everything is still phony; something just doesn’t seem right. It yearns to heal his broken heart. You thought he’d be ready to move on by now, but he’s just not. The times her name comes up unlikely in a conversation, you see the passing pang of pain flutter in his eyes. His hurt hurts you. What hurts furthermore, is to know that he wants to be over her as badly as you do, but something just keeps him clinging on. She’ll always be the one that "mattered the most".
His emotional distance makes you hold your ground even harder as you resist the fact that this man is so close to being yours—that probably if you guys had met at a different time or place or universe, things might’ve been different. All you want to be is adequate, but you will never be adequate because YOU WILL NEVER BE HER. And it won’t matter how good of a person you are, or how attuned you are, or how well you treat him or how good a company you are to him, he’ll never love you the way he loves her.
So, after what feels like a lifetime of persistent efforts of trying to conquest over this man’s heart, it’ll finally set-in and you’ll start accepting the reality: he is still in love with his ex-girlfriend, and you cannot change that. Yes, it’ll hurt. You will punch yourself a thousand times for trying to mend his shattered heart, for getting involved with him when you should’ve known better.
Maybe he’ll get back with her someday and they’ll live happily ever after… Or maybe he’ll move on from her on his own terms in a few weeks’ time or maybe months… and maybe you will then get one more chance with him when the timing is finally right.
As they say, the two most important things you need for love: chemistry and timing.
But TIMING is a BITCH!!
Why "I Need To Talk To You When I Get Home" Should Be Eliminated From Your Vocabulary
   In my late teens, sections of the Teen Magazine that I loved the best were the quizzes. I enjoyed sorting through the multiple choice questions to discover all types of things about myself. One thing I explored was the extremely important concept of timing in a relationship. Take the opportunity of reading this article so as to explore your need for that ‘timing’!!
Imagine that you’ve had an extremely rough day and on top of everything, the traffic on your way home was terrible. You walk in the door ready to drop your keys, take off your coat, and relax. All you want to do is sit down on the sofa. Just as you put your arm on the armrest, your partner is standing there, ready to tear into you about something you did. You are exhausted, stressed, and now you are headed into an argument.
Communicating how you are feeling is extremely important in a relationship. But it is equally as important to have the right timing. Every person walks in the door and needs a certain amount of time to relax and cool down from their day. Some people need fifteen minutes, some need thirty, and others may need more than an hour. Choosing the wrong time to talk to someone may compromise the way they hear you or how they understand your feelings.
   Although there is no way to determine that magical moment to discuss an important topic with someone, there are definitely moments that are better than others. Often, we search for the best opportunity or the best timing for us, instead of the best moment for the other person or for the conversation.
A lot of times, we know that the timing is not right for a specific conversation, so we say, “I’d like to talk to you about something. Let’s discuss it later.” But think back to when you were in elementary school. Just before class begins, your teacher walks over to you and whispers in your ear, “Please see me after class. I need to talk to you.” With all of the questions churning in your head, you can bet that your teacher will not have your full attention in class.
   Years ago, I had an issue that I wanted to discuss with my mother. I called her up when she was in a meeting. I knew that it wasn’t appropriate to have a conversation while we were both busy. So I simply said, “When you get off, please call me because I have something that I would like to talk to you about.” At 5:05 pm, five minutes after she got off, my phone was ringing. She wanted to know what I had to say.
I learned that what I said to her was the catalyst for changing her day from good to bad. She spent almost every single minute at work thinking about what I wanted to talk to her about. What did she do? Did something happen to her? Is she ok? When we finished talking, she asked me not to call her with a concern unless I was ready to talk about it right then and there.
   Telling someone that you need to talk to them later is unsettling and stressful. If you are unable to address an issue that is on your mind, save the other individual from unnecessary anxiety and don’t bring it up until you are ready to discuss it.
   Timing is equally important as effective communication. While there is no perfect time to discuss an issue or dilemma, there are times that are more opportune than others. Ensure that your significant other knows how much cool down time you require when you walk in the house, what time of the day is best for capturing your attention, and what scenario would be less than ideal for you to address a serious issue. Make sure that you are clear on their needs as well. And if a problem or issue arises, present it at the best possible time for both of you, not when it first comes up.
What it means to be Loved!
          I feel elated. I’ll never be alone. Immaterial of whatever I do or say, I’ll have someone who would be there for me... Always. Someone, who will make an ordinary moment seem magical. One, who would care for me more than anybody else. The person who will drop everything to be with me at any time no matter what the circumstances. Someone who will entertain me when I'm bored, crack jokes for me when I'm sad, try all that is possible to just make me feel at ease. Someone who will be my companion in happiness and a shareholder of my grief.
          I feel so grateful to have someone like that in my life. Not many have the blessing to have someone who loves you so selflessly, the kind of person who brings out the best in you and makes you want to be a better person. A person who makes sure that no misunderstanding ruins the bond. But I am fortunate. I am loved. I don't think I'll be able to love anyone back in the same way, ever...
To be deeply loved means a consent to cut yourself wide open, exposing your vulnerabilities... hopes, hurts, fears and flaws. Hiding behind the highlight reel, of who you are, is the real you! And that person is just as worthy of love. There is nothing more terrifying or fulfilling than complete love, it's worth the risk... reach for it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

          Everyone wants to be the jewel in the crown! Everybody wishes to be loved. All of us yearn to be pampered. We crave for affection. Not many have their wish granted. And those who do, often don't realize it's real worth. Such relationships are taken for granted. We often think that no matter what we say or behave, he will never let the relationship fall apart. This is one of the biggest delusions.
          Everything in life has to have a balance. If this balance is disturbed too often, the relationship is in jeopardy. We have to acknowledge the true worth of such a person and try to reciprocate whatever we can, whenever we can. The one thing that we can never give enough is Love. It takes a beautiful soul and a priceless heart to love someone so deeply and if you have one, treasure it. Wake up and realize its real worth before it slips away from your hands.

Live every moment, Love every day, because before you know it, precious time slips away.....

Distance Sucks

          I had butterflies in my stomach. It was almost as if we were meeting for the first time. I was ready an hour before the actual set time. He always says that I look good in black, so I wore a Black outfit. Everything was pre-planned; I did not want to mess up things at the last moment. I saw him after almost a year. He used to send me his pictures, but today, I had him 'live' before my eyes. After so long, I heard him calling me all those mushy names, I was able to hold his hand. The distance which was in miles had then been cut off to meters, temporarily though. I made the most of my time with him. I used this time to create wonderful memories; memories that would help me survive without him long after he is gone.
          Time without him doesn't pass by that easily. I feel disheartened whenever I see couples walking hand-in-hand all around me. I wish to be one of them. Without him, I can sense this vacuum all the time. This emptiness consumes me.

We are a Perfect couple; we are just not in the Perfect situation.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          Thanks to the ever advancing technology, the number of Long Distance relationships have increased manifold. Facebook, Twitter, E-Mails and other social sites connect people across borders and oceans. It is so easy to fall in love with someone who is miles apart. But the tough part is to 'stay' in love even after you realize the fact that he won't be beside you always. He won't be there to console you. He won't be able to take you to Movies or Parties. The anticipated number of dates would decrease manifold. You will not be able to hug him each day in order to let him know how much you love him. You will not be able to feel his presence around you, and the sense of security that comes along with it.
          There will be fights, heated arguments and insecurities involved. But once you manage to get through them, the relationship will be on the right track. Distance means so less when someone means so much.
Missing someone gets easier day by day. Because even if you are one day farther to the last time you saw him, You are a day closer to the next time you will.
Have Never Been SO SINGLE…!!!!
I always thought that I was independent. I never needed any kind of emotional or moral support. I had my friends and family. There was no need for 'The One'. I was contended by the way my life was going. I always believed I would be able to manage without a relationship. I didn't want to get into the complications of one. I gravely doubted if my parents would ever approve of me being in a relationship. So, staying single was the best option I had. I decided to stick to the Just Friends tag and not go any further. It was all going smooth.
But eventually, all my friends entered into relationships. Their experiences made me feel out of place. The support, care, affection and Love which their respective relationships offered them made me long for one too. Soon, I could feel my inner resolve shaking. I wanted a relationship. Today, as I look back, it amazes me how much my attitude towards relationships has changed. Being Single is no longer something that I can do. I need to fill this empty space in my life, the sooner the better.
 There's got to be a 'meant to be' for me out there somewhere, someday I'm gonna find someone somehow, someway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Being Single isn't an easy task in today's world. Peer Pressure being the main culprit. Your friends may not force you into a relationship, but unknowingly, they make you crave for one. When you see the people around you talking about their relationships, the ups and downs involved, those sweet little arguments, those gifts and all the other stuff, you want to be a part of them too.
But then that does not mean that you rush into a relationship, without considering the consequences. When it has to happen, it will happen. No matter what, you should never give in to your weakness and compromise with your self-respect. What is the point of entering into a relationship only to regret it later? Why not wait a little more? Maybe what you get is even better, or The Best!!
On the other side, being Single isn't that bad as well. You may feel out of place at times, but otherwise you are better off than your counterparts. While they are busy going through the emotional roller coaster of breakups and patch-ups, you sit back and enjoy being yourself. So, don't force love to happen, don't try to Make it happen, it never will. Just wait for the Perfect Moment, the Perfect Person, and the Perfect Love that will lead you to a Perfect Life.

I wanna fall in love… I wanna feel that rush… Which runs into my heart shaking up my soul, the feeling I've never felt before...

The Haunting Past

It was as if we were always meant to be together. When I met him, I realized how it feels to be with that special someone. He made me realize the worth of love. Life with him was perfect. We had a clear picture of our future right in front of our eyes. I started thinking that life was perfect. I was sure that our relationship was flawless. We decided that now that we were so sure of our relationship, there should be no secrets between us. This was a turning point in our relationship. The 'No Secrets' deal revealed certain things about his past which I was earlier unaware of.
This was not a very pleasant experience. He had a hell of a past. I never knew. I always thought that as long as our future was clear, knowing the past was of no use. It was only when things were presented in front of me, that I realized the actual situation. Although I never show it, his past haunts me till date. It makes me insecure. I became aware of the actual reason of his over-protective behavior. His past had shattered him, but at the same time it had hardened him from the inside. It is kind of hard to get these images from his past out of my mind. I still love him the way I used to. But there are times when I regret knowing about his past.
We both deny it, but if we look close into each other’s eyes, we know our love is different. We know we have a future full of feelings that were left behind by us in our past.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of us have our own story, our own experiences and our own past. Some hold good records, while for others it was a new lesson to learn. For others, our past is just a story like that of a daily soap. There are a very few people who are actually affected by our past. They are the people who are with us in our present. Think of it in the other way, if you come to know about the not-so-likable past of your partner. What would be your reaction? What if this revelation intensely affects you at an emotional level? What if it makes you question the very existence of your relationship?
It leaves you with not many options. Option one, you can ignore your partner's past and move on with the relationship. After all, if the present is satisfying, you can easily overlook the past. Option two, understand your partner's feelings and instead of holding him responsible, sympathize with them. It takes a strong emotional resolve to do so. Promise them that you will never let them go through the same ever again. The last and the most selfish option, sacrifice your present for the sake of your partner's past. Walk away and leave them alone to face the same emotional turmoil again. My personal advice to you is, choose from the first two. Completely ignore the last one.
You never realize what kind of love you have, until you almost walk away from it and come back to find that it’s may be way too late.
I Miss The Old Him
  We had a fairy-tale beginning, almost. Things were perfect back then. There was love, there was commitment, and there was trust. Our relationship was nearly perfect in all means. He used to be concerned about me, gave importance to whatever I said. He made me feel like an essential part of his life. Things were great. And I only anticipated that they would get better with time. I overlooked the darker side.
  But as time passed, he seemed to have changed. He is now a very different version of what he earlier was. He is in no way similar to the guy that I fell for. He is no more the same person. His priorities seem to have changed as well. We argue more and talk less. On some days, I feel that I am being taken for granted. While on others, I wonder if he has lost interest in me. I cannot prevent these baseless thoughts from crowding my mind. This behavior of his makes me derive all sorts of conclusions about the future of our relationship. Whenever I try and bring up this topic, he casually ignores the topic and walks away. Is he bored? Is there nothing left in this relationship? Has the love faded away?
  There are so many questions and not many answers. I would do all that it takes to set things right, provided he wants me to. I want to revive the lost love yet again. I wish to go back to those good old days when all was well. When all that mattered was US.
As soon as you get too comfortable, that's when things fall apart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  Amidst all these young relationships, the concept of true, undying love has ceased to exist. There could be a multiple reasons to it. Are we too immature to know the true worth of relationships? Do we get bored of dating the same person? Are we yet to understand the concept of being with each other through thick and thin? Or probably, when we know we are loved by someone, we take that person for granted. On the other side of this change, lies the victim. The person who gives all that he/she has to revive the relationship. A person who has spent hours wondering what went wrong.
  If you have even the tiniest of doubts about anything in young relationship, talk it out. For the suspense kills the other person. If you say you want to be with someone, stick to it. You may think your girl is over-reacting, but this isn't the actual picture. She can sense that the relationship is degrading, and she is concerned. She gave all her time and emotions to this commitment because she always thought that it would last. Explain your reasons to her, tell her what actually went wrong and you will see how she sets things right at once. Realize what you have before it slips away from your hands.
Stop pretending that things are more complicated than they are! You either love someone or you don’t, so stop hanging on to them.

Soul Sisters

  I always thought that I was one of a kind. There was no one like me. My habits, my behaviour and my way of handling things were unique. This made me feel out of place at times. I secretly wished that I had a twin sister. Someone who would know how things are for me. Someone who would understand why I am the way I am. Then I met her. She was just an acquaintance at first. As time passed, I got to know stuff about her. We shared our experiences, our opinions and our thoughts. It was amazing how we turned out to be so similar. We had a lot in common.
  We had the same preferences, the same opinions regarding certain things. It was so good to finally meet someone like me. Although we weren't related, she was no less than a sister to me. We were soul sisters. The striking similarities between us caused me to give away this title to her. She is one person with whom I can share things that can't very shared by anyone else. This is because I know she sees things from a similar perspective. She knows how and why I judge certain things. I love her company. I adore her personality. Maybe because she's a lot like me. Or even better.

What's the good in news if you don’t have someone to share it with?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  There lies some truth in the saying that Opposites Attract. But that does not mean that people run away from those who are similar to them. It is always a pleasure to find someone who is like you in many ways. Everyone needs such company. Everyone needs someone who knows how the world appears through their eyes. It was always good to have someone who has the same interests, the same way of life, and the same mentality as you. You can always discuss what you have in mind, because mostly you both will find yourself at the same path. There are certain things about you which no one may understand, but this person does. Probably because she's been through the same. Such a person will know what is to be said to put you in the right mood.
  You may not be related to this person actually, but you hold them close to your heart. They are a reflection of what you are or what you want to be. There are so many things that you can learn from them. So many things that you can teach them. Such a person has answers to all the unexplained questions that spring up in your mind. It is always a blessing to have someone who is so similar to you in your life.
A Soul Sister can be seen as someone who is both ourselves and very much not ourselves - A special kind of double.
Nightmares of Losing You
He occupies such a prominent place in my life. Now that he has been with me since so long, I kind of cannot imagine life without him. I am extremely dependent on him. My life revolves around him. I love to be with him always. Together we are a perfect couple. The mere thought of having a future with him is overwhelming. I want things to be this way forever, and change only to get better with time. There are days when I make plans about our future, fantasies that take me to a heavenly place. He is my obsession.
But then there are these real bad days when all those negative thoughts creep into my mind. On such days, I cannot stop myself from thinking about the worst possible outcomes of this relationship. The clear image of the future begins to blur. I think of ways of making him stay if he ever decides to leave. The very thought of which scares me. Those negative images are somewhere buried deep down in my mind and crop up on such days, making them all the more miserable. I try my best to ignore them, but these thoughts are involuntary. Maybe they are God's own way of telling me how much I love him.
My only nightmare is waking up in a world where you aren't mine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When in a relationship, people go through all sorts of mixed emotions. These emotions may be good or bad. The good ones are heavenly, but it is the negative ones that are difficult to tackle. There is a constant fear of any casual argument turning into a serious one. 'What if he gets bored and walks out of our relationship? What if he says that he doesn't want me anymore? What if he finds someone better?' These are a few of the many conclusions we derive. These are emotions which everyone in a relationship faces. Trust me; you aren't the only one out there.
These are all phases. Phases that are a part and parcel of relationships. Every relationship goes through bad times. Such situations are nothing but a trial period of your relationship. This involves insecurity, jealously, depression and other cynical emotions. The only cure is trust. You have to trust your relationship, trust your partner and most importantly, trust this love which holds you together. You should be sure of your feelings for him. If all this is done, other things would hardly be a problem then.
You will always be afraid to lose someone, afraid they may find someone better than you. You just can’t help that. It just happens as soon as you start to get too attached to someone. You don’t want them out of your life. Ever.

We are all CRAZY people!!

   Together, We are the Best. We are second to none. The crazy things we do, the stupid jokes we crack. Those senseless arguments; absolutely baseless mockeries, the code words, the messages, the groups, the hangouts, the parties. These act as the main ingredients of the special and unique recipe of friendship. I am glad to have such people in my life. Thanks to them, I can proudly say that right now, I am having the best time of my life.
These maniacs whom I proudly declare to be my friends are absolutely amazing people. I am a completely different person when they are around. They stood firm by me in not only my good days, but also on the bad ones. Their constant motivation and rarely useful advises carry me safely through my journey. They are my second family. Only people like them can make the most boring of lectures interesting. I treasure them. No matter where my life takes me, I'll try and be in touch with them, always.

   I may not be liked by many, but I know that I am loved, loved by this crazy bunch of people who make my life brighter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  They say that the bonds that one forms in high school/colleges go a long way. These are the people who stay with us throughout our life. We grow up along with them, sharing and learning from each other’s experiences. Competition, insecurity, fights, diplomacy often makes its way through such friendships. But eventually, we should fight our way out of them to save these friendships.
Ask a person who has no friends what it means to be alone. The feeling is almost suicidal. It kills you from the inside. On the other hand, the more friends you have, more the drama, more the fun and more the memories.
So, let go of grudges. Form new bonds. Because now is the time to meet amazing new people who will stay with you for the rest of your lives, making your bad days better.
People, who find crazy friends, find a treasure.
What it takes to Smile?
   Over the past few days, my attitude towards life has changed drastically. I smile less and frown more, I laugh less and crib more. But all this is not without reason. There are certain facts about life that I have recently accepted; it's just that I am having a tough time adjusting coping with them. People say I have changed to a grumbling person. But not even one of them bothered to ask the actual reasons. I was forced by circumstances to be the way I am now.
   There are certain truths about life that, after reaching a certain limit, just cannot be overlooked. I know that I am surrounded by diplomatic people who actually are backstabbers under the masks of innocence. I know I can't be at the top anymore. I know I cannot regain the things that I have lost in life. For certain things that went wrong, I know that I can do nothing but just sit back and regret. I just want to go back to the past and set things right, provided that I get a second chance. There are people whom I have hurt. There are people who have hurt me. There are people that I want in my life. There are people whom I want to kick out of my life. I know these aren't enough reasons to justify the new me. I am not like this always. Life does give me reasons to smile, a lot. But some days, I break. All the held back tears, mixed with frustration and grief, break free. On such days, I wonder what went wrong. I wonder why I did the things that I shouldn't have done and I wonder why I never did the things that I should have done.
Don't cry because it's Over, Smile because it Happened.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   Life, at times is unfair. You obviously get what you deserve, but the sad part is accepting that you may never have what you want. Not everyone is good at it. Not many people know how to fake a smile. Not many people out there are dual-faced. Sometimes, people are what they are. They may not smile too often, but that means that there is something bugging them. Smiling isn't as easy as it sounds. It's just not the lips that have to work; the heart is involved as well. Everybody has their own share of problems in life, but not many have the strength to tackle them with a positive attitude.
   People can fake happiness, but it is almost impossible to fake grief. One simply cannot pretend to break sad or depressed. The only solution is to overlook the negatives and focus on the positive things around us. Try to bring yourself to accept what you have. You may often think that you deserved better in life, but then what you currently have isn't that bad too. Laugh away your problems. Indulge yourself in what you love the most, explore yourself. Find out what you're meant for. The day you find out who you are, things will be brighter. Your vision will be much clearer. You'll know why things happened that way. And as far as other things are concerned, well, Ignorance is Bliss!

The most beautiful Smiles are the ones that struggle through the Tears.

Embracing Your Beauty!!

“Oh my God, I’m so fat!”
“My thighs look like cottage cheese!”
“I hate my arms!”

   These are statements that you almost never hear coming out of the mouths of guys.  In general, girls degrade our bodies on a much broader scale than the guys.

   We can also pass on our own insecurities by being overly preoccupied with out weight or appearance.  Little kids think the world of their elder sisters or brothers. They look at us as beauty queens and super heroes.  So when then they see us calling ourselves fat, grunting at the mirror, eating cereal for dinner to squeeze into a dress, or jumping on the latest diet bandwagon, it makes them question their own beauty and weight. If their sister’s aren’t good enough, how can they possibly be good enough?

   Commercials and magazines definitely don’t make it easier. Nowadays, almost every magazine airbrushes inches off of thighs, sharpens cheekbones, erases stretch marks, and cinches waists.  We can’t go a night without watching commercials about girls eating yogurt or cereal to lose weight, or watching the latest celebrity with an endorsement by Weight Watchers!!

   So when I watched the new Dove Ad, it put things into a completely different perspective.  An FBI profiler draws women based on what they say about themselves, which includes: “My chin kind of protrudes a little bit, especially when I smile.” “I kind of have a fat rounder face.”

   Whether we refuse to see our mistakes or refuse to see our greatness, we are not seeing ourselves for who we are.  When we put ourselves down, we ignore our own gifts and dismiss our beauty. I see it all of the time when people are given compliments. Instead of feeling grateful and whole, we insert an excuse or diminish our light.

Your cake is amazing!                     “The recipe was really easy.”
Your dress is stunning!                  “You like this? It’s old.”
Your hair looks amazing!               “You don’t see the frizz in the back?!”

   When are YOU going to start accepting and embracing your beauty and your strength. The next time someone pays you a compliment, don’t minimize their words. Simply say, “Thank you.”  And if you are a sister, you owe it to your younger siblings to look in the mirror tonight and say, “I look incredible.”!!!!

Girls, embrace your flaws!!!! Don't compare or compete with others. What makes you different makes you beautiful. Don't let the crowd's standards define you. You're beautiful in your way!!!! <3

Why do People Change?

   As people move on with life, they change. And not always in a positive way. They meet new people and in order to adjust with them, they try to be one of them. This is what changes them. Is it actually possible for a person to change? To forget who they were and move on to become a completely different person? I've seen people change in love; I've seen people change for love. Their preferences change, their priorities change. Some realize their mistakes and change to correct them. People shatter our trust and then apologize. Claiming that they have changed. Our friends change and we grow apart. It is surprising how someone you used to be so close to, can't even find the time or the need to reach you once in a month or so. The question is, Do people actually change or it's just that we get to see their actual colours after a span of time?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   The reason why relationships or friendships don't last today? People change. They change their priorities. They change their attitude. Because people, in the process of adapting themselves to the new people around them, forget who they were and what they used to be. They tend to forget that this change, it not only affects them but those around them too. It affects the people close to them, and not always in a good way. And why do people exactly change?
   Maybe because they are too bored with their former selves and are looking for something new, not realizing that there are people who love them the way they are. People change when they shift their focus in life, to more important things. A change in priorities. And mostly, people change for attention, people change because they aren't confident about themselves. They want to be someone else, someone who is way better than them, even if it means giving up on their original self.
Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.
The Choice
   I know what I did wasn't the right thing. Had my parents known, they would have never permitted me. I felt guilty. I know nobody expected me to do it. It was everything but legal. I felt out of place. I wanted to run back home and lock myself up in my room. For my friends, it was no big deal. They said this was something regular to them. But for me, it wasn't. Because I was never allowed. They told me that I was freaking out because it was my first time. With practice, I would master the art. But did I really want this to happen again?
   I really didn't have an answer to this one. I compromised with my values and my parent's Trust just because I couldn't say 'No'. Maybe I was too tempted with the offer. Maybe I thought that saying no would make me conventional. Maybe I just wanted to try it once. Or maybe I just wanted to break free from all my restrictions. Whatever the reason may be, the conclusion was that all this was wrong, very wrong. I shouldn't have done it. But what will my peers think of me? Am I a coward? Or am I a nerd? I don't know how to make a choice. I don't know which side to follow.
I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   Our peers are our second family. Our parents, our first. Which one to obey? One leads you to all sorts of things that you always wanted to try. Dangerous, but fun. The other holds us back from doing them? It isn't about our parents or their set of rules; it is about us and our conscience. All of us instinctively know what is good and what isn't. But everyone overlooks it. Whenever we do something that we aren't supposed to do, our inner voice shouts, yells and pleads you to stop. But to no avail. We follow our impulses. Teenage, it is. We have a whole lot of reality shows showing us the worst cases. But preaching doesn't help. Application does. Learn to acknowledge your limits. Learn to obey rules.
   As far as peer pressure is concerned, learn to say No. Learn to apply your own brain and not get carried away by what others say. The fact that you are not allowed doing things that your friends are permitted to do instills a kind of a rebellion. But no parent wants to chain their child. All of them are just preparing us for that big bad world, a step at a time. It's all about the choice you make. It's all about whose side you take. It all depends on whether you are strong enough to say No at that point of time.

It is better to be hated for what you are; than to be loved for something you aren't.

Know The Difference....

   We rushed into things. It was an instant connection. We hardly took any time. We started dating almost immediately after we met. I didn't even know him well. He proposed me and I agreed. I wanted a relationship, badly. I could no longer stay single. All my friends had a boyfriend. I needed one so I picked the easiest available option. Being our first relationship, there was so much to experience, so much to explore.
   Almost a month after this relationship, the truth dawned upon me. I practically knew nothing about this guy. There was no future together. Our relationship was more of a physical fling, than an emotional one. I didn't love him. It was just that I wanted him. And not particularly him, I just needed any such company. Now, when it is all over, I feel a strange sense of guilt. Why did I date him? This is still an unanswered question lying on the back of my mind. Maybe because I just couldn't bear being single anymore. It was humiliating at times. But this relationship gave me nothing, except a few nightmares. All I know is that in future, I will never enter into such a commitment before completely assessing the situation.

Never confuse Love with Lust. One is unconditional, and the other has an expiry date.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   Peer pressure lead us into all sorts of silly stuff. It is just so important to match up to our friends levels. Thus, teenagers are often influenced to take the quicker route. They confuse Lust for Love, making it all the more dreadful for them. Most relationships these days are a result of desperation, and not that of Love. As a result, people easily get bored of each other. They just don't last. This shakes their faith in the true feeling of Love. Physical intimacy thus replaces Love.
   The truth is; when two people are actually in Love, lust automatically takes the back seat. There are so many successful long distance relationships. These relationships are an example of how Love triumphs over all challenges. But people today lack the patience to wait, even if it is for Love. They see a line and they want to cross it. It is a kind of personal dare. Maybe the thrill of trading the familiar for the unfamiliar. And once they are in there, it is kind of hard to get back. Lust can't wait, but Love can.
There is a BIG difference between: Who we Love, Who we settle for and Who we are meant for.
All it takes is a little Trust
   I feel chained. In order to save my relationship, I've made some very prominent sacrifices in the recent past. Even after all this, he says he is insecure. He complains when I wear short dresses to parties. He dislikes almost all of my guy friends. I tried convincing him, but he doesn't budge. Whenever he loses his cool, he accuses me of all the mean things, saying he doesn't trust me. This feels humiliating at times. On some days, I wish to break free from these chains and be free to do whatever I want, whenever I want.
But our love for each other is enough reason for me to Stay. Obviously we have had many good times. But these are outnumbered by the increasing insecurities. There have been times when I feel insecure regarding his exes and stuff. But I never complain. Trust is the very foundation of a relationship. In order to love someone, you have to trust them in the first place. I want a little space. There are certain things which I want to do without his nagging. I understand he cares, but caring too much is often a sign of insecurity.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   Guys often tend to get too attached when it comes to the girl they Love. This is a common phenomenon. But individually, all of them have a separate mentality. Some hardly care, some trust and let go, others care way too much. Excess interference senselessly arouses suspicions, which is unhealthy for a relationship. There is a mutual disagreement. Girls often feel that they are being held back by their relationship. A relationship is not a boundation, it's a feeling of togetherness, a feeling of love and concern. Too much insecurity from one side may cause the other to break free from the relationship.
   When you enter into a relationship, you promise to be with that person through thick and thin. You pledge to take care of each other. Doubting your partner or accusing them will only harm your relationship in the long run. She may try to convince you to trust her, and when she does, obey her. A girl may accept all what you say patiently. But a day will come when this patience will end, and she will break free. And once a girl is freed from such a relationship, she may not return. Love means a lot to a girl. But no girl accepts a relationship at the cost of her freedom. If you had the strength to love, have the courage to trust.

To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved.

I wish I could go back in time

   After spending a couple of hours with an old friend, I realized that things have changed a lot. I have changed a lot. It was like my life went through a series of changes. The changing situations, the uncertain circumstances somehow forced me to change as well. I came out as an entirely different person. All that I have today - the people, the identity, the kind of life, it is all completely different from what I had. I left behind most of my old friends and made new ones, had fresh experiences. There were many chapters of my life which were never completed. I opened a fresh chapter without bothering to close the old ones. Well, in some cases, closing them was impossible.
   Change is a part of life. But there is a possibility that change, may not be for good, at times. Although I am happy with whatever I have, but it hurts to look back and see those unclosed chapters that lay scattered. I sometimes feel that they are calling me back to them. The ignored aspects of my life are demanding attention. I want to go back and go through my past all over again. I wish to relive it. I miss those times. I miss those people who once meant everything to me. I miss those people who don't even care to check if I exist today or not. I want those people back. My present is full of amazing people, but somehow, the people in my past hold the same importance till date. I may not show it, but I miss them, I miss them a hell lot!

All in all, I have no regrets. The sun still shines, the sun still sets. The heart forgives, the heart forgets. I'll close my eyes and make a wish, hoping you'll remember that you were to stay forever… <3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   This happens with everyone. All of us have certain relationships or friendships that once meant everything to us. Although they never ended, they faded away with time. Or in some cases they were snapped by misunderstandings, rumors and other things. The only thing that strikes us then is - Life Moves On. So, we carry on with life. We try and move forward quickly, with an intention to blur our past. We try our best to avoid looking back for we know that once we do so, we will regret moving forward in the first place. You cannot run away from your past, for that was a part of your life. You cannot avoid it for long. Sooner or later, you will come to terms with reality. Life will make you pay for whatever you did or said. You will then realize what you had missed all these years.
   Why let such a situation arise in the first place? Why let any bad memories be a part of your past? Why not address and approach the situation there and then? Resolve the matter. If things went wrong somewhere, fix them. Try your best. The memories that we create today are a kind of an investment. The returns are in the form of the happiness and contentment that we feel when we look back at them. And if something went seriously wrong, dismiss it. Try not to get too attached. Try and be as passive as possible. Why spoil your present because of something so worthless, that to a part of your past?
Life is all about risks and it requires you to jump. Don't be a person who has to look back and wonder what they would have or could have had. No one waits forever.
